Miriam Gilbert is a long-time leader in the publishing community. She is currently Director, Rosen Digital. She is responsible for domestic and global digital marketing and sales, and plays a key role in digital product strategy and development. During a 30-year career in the publishing business, she has held a range of positions. Miriam was Associate Publisher, Westview Press, a Boulder-based academic publisher. She was Assistant Vice President, Global Licensing and Consortia Sales, at Marcel Dekker, Inc, a leading mid-sized STM (scientific, technical, and medical) publisher headquartered in New York and London. As netLibrary’s Senior Director, Publisher Relations, Miriam was responsible for forging relationships with the book publishing community and acquiring the content that serves as the foundation for netLibrary’s eBook collection. During her tenure at netLibrary, she worked closely with K-12, trade, professional, and academic publishers.
Miriam Gilbert serves on the faculty of the Denver Publishing Institute. Miriam is a frequent speaker at information industry events including the School Library Journal Summit, AASL, Frankfurt Book Fair, The Charleston Conference, NASIG, Rocky Mountain SLA, AAP/PSP, and the SSP. She is a member of the Development and Strategic Education Committees of the Emergency Family Assistance Association of Boulder County. She is a former Trustee of the Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools.
She is co-author of “Making an Impact: Digital Resources for Teens” published in the volume E-Reference Context and Discoverability in Libraries: Issues and Concepts, edited by Sue Polanka, published by IGI Global.
